DFPD gets the majority of its funding from a district wide tax mill levy that encompasses parts of Garfield and Mesa Counties.  A mill levy increase was recently voted to raise the mill levy from 4 mills to 8 mills beginning with the 2022 tax year that will be allocated in 2023.  In addition, DFPD provides ambulance/rescue services for a fee.  Those fees are set by county standards and vary according to the services needed for each transport.
